Greetings from the USA

Yes, I’m stateside. I have very mixed feelings about it, but I’m here. I really, really struggled with the decision of staying in Ireland versus delivering in the U.S., but then the “powers that be” got involved, and the decision was essentially made for me. It would have been FAR easier to stay in Ireland, but the “powers that be” were not comfortable with me delivering outside of the U.S., so here I am. I pushed and pushed to stay in Dublin as long as possible, but eventually it was time to go. In fact, I’m fairly sure the RMO was ready to personally escort me to the airport if I asked to extend my stay in Dublin one more time.

Overall, travel was easy. Well, as easy as can be with 14+ hours of airport and flight time and an injection, at 32 weeks.

I miss my husband and cats terribly, but I have to trust that we’ve done the right thing.

Many, many updates to come.

  2. You are high risk. And I can say this with love, having been as high a risk as high risk gets: the place for you (and me, etc.) is right smack on top of whatever place has the finest and bestest medical facility to which we could have access.

So sorry that you are here without your husband and your kitties. It must be so lonely. But yes, you are right where it is best for you to be. I hope the (weeks of?) separation fl(ies) by for you. Many internet hugs to you.

  4. Welcome back girl. I think its the best for you. Super S is mentioning that he wants me to deliver in the US, not due to high risk, just because. We'll see, haven't decided yet. We have no insurance so that is a major issue for me. Anyway looking forward to your updates and glad travel was uneventful, other than your injection. xoxox

  5. I hope you made the right decision and feel comfortable being over there. Will your husband join you closer to your due date?

    Many hugs!

  6. I'm heading back to the U.S. this week too, at 32 weeks. I can't give birth at our post and was prepared to go back, but I was devastated when they suddenly moved me up from 34 weeks to 32 weeks. I'm all packed, but mentally and emotionally I'm not ready to leave yet. I know it's best for me and the baby, but I also hate leaving my husband behind to miss the next six weeks. I'll be worried the whole time that he won't make it back before the birth.

Good luck with your last few weeks!

  9. I'm glad that you made the trip just fine, injection and all!

It has to be hard leaving everyone behind...
