I decided to test today, 7dp5dt. Not wanting to jinx myself, I hadn’t planned ahead (purchased new pregnancy tests). So, I used an old (expired 2010) internet cheapie. Guinness woke me up at 5am, I tested, no line, threw it in the bin and crawled back in bed. Cried, cursed the world, and tried to go back to sleep; Guinness would not stop meowing. I got back out of bed and for whatever reason, pulled the test out of the bin. I blinked a few times, as I thought I saw a line. My husband was downstairs and when I showed the test to him, he saw the line too.
I’ve now thrown the test away, and pulled it out of the bin approximately five times; I’m clearly insane. I even got excited for a few minutes until I realized that
1. The test is expired.
2. The test is cheap.
3. The line didn’t show up right away.
Google isn’t helping either. The words “expired” and “evaporation” line might send me over the edge.
I just spoke to the clinic and they don’t do blood work on Saturdays. I have an appointment onMonday morning, and will buy some new tests today. Please let this be a real line. With everything I have, please let this be real. Honestly, I’m not feeling very hopeful :(
I think as long as the line is the same COLOR as the control line then it is probably a positive. Honestly, it looks like a positive to me. A light one, but it's there. I've had evap lines and I've also had REALLY faint positives. This looks more like a faint positive. Hope you see a nice obvious line on the new test you get!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a line to me! Otherwise, I doubt we'd see it on a photo, on a PC (if you know what I mean!)... waiting for the confirmation to come! xx
ReplyDeleteOoo! I hope it's a line! xx
ReplyDeleteIt looks like mine did and it was definitely positive. Never got more than a faint line with the cheaper, it also didn't show up right away and I too thought evap line. Now that you have a faint line, go buy a digital test and have an accurate answer. I thought mine would be negative too at 7dp6dt but it was positive within a minute and the second cheaper I had started at the same time still had the faintest line. I hope its really positive!!!
ReplyDeleteIs it a blue dye test or pink dye? (Looks pink in the picture.) If pink, I'd say you're almost definitely pregnant! They almost never give evaporation lines. I have had two similar false positives (after pulling from the trash can after the 10-minute mark) with blue dye tests, so beware. If you haven't gone insane yet, Google "blue dye evaporation line." Also, But if the dye is pink as it looks in the picture, I think congratulations might be in order! Go buy new tests! (P.S. Not sure if you care, as I'm an Internet stranger, but I was about one week ahead of you in my last-ditch 3rd IVF attempt and got a BFP last week. Had my first u/s today to confirm the sac is there but won't be able to see a HB for at least another week.)
ReplyDeleteJacksmom, I just read back through your blog, looking for pictures :) I'm still scared, but seeing the pics you posted, and reading the almost identical story, have made me feel so much better. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLiz, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I keep forgetting to ask if you have a blog. This is indeed a pink test. I purchased three other brands of tests today, and plan to test again in the morning.
I see the line. I'm going to hold off on my excitement just until I get a picture of your 2nd line tomorrow morning. See how I stay positive? :-) I'm very hopeful for you. I'm betting it's a real 2nd line. Can't wait for tomorrow's post!
ReplyDeleteI see the line!! I see the line!!!
ReplyDeleteOut of all the negative tests I'v taken, I NEVER had an evaporation line. I'm hoping this is it!
